Description
Silt Sock manages sediment runoff before it reaches a culvert, drain or waterway. Sediment-laden runoff entering a culvert or stormwater gully pollutes waterways and can breach resource consent conditions, and a rigid barrier that can’t take the shape of the ground leaves gaps for runoff to slip straight past. This sock is made from robust, UV-stabilised polypropylene and sold unfilled, so it’s packed on site with coarse sand, gravel or wood chips and moulds to the ground it’s protecting rather than sitting rigid against it. Carry handles are built in for placing, moving and stacking. It measures 1000mm long by 250mm in diameter, weighs 0.2kg empty, and is reusable once emptied and cleaned. Construction crews use it at culverts, drain outflows and stormwater runoff gullies wherever sediment needs to be filtered out before it reaches the waterway.
