U Bolt 120x 45mm x 12mm

The U Bolt 120x 45mm x 12mm is a heavy-duty splicing jointer for connecting a pair of reinforcing steel bars in a rebar cage. Cages built in tight bays or against existing structure often can’t be spliced with a full lap length, and a jointer that doesn’t grip the bar securely risks slipping under load during casting. This U bolt has a 45mm wide, 100mm long opening that caters for splicing 2 x 40mm rebars, with an M10 thread bolt drawing a 45mm wide, 95mm long, 10mm thick galvanised steel washer/keeper plate down against the bars. The galvanised coating on both the bolt and keeper plate resists corrosion in the same wet, abrasive conditions the surrounding rebar cage is exposed to. Steel fixers and precasters use it wherever larger-diameter cages need to be spliced in confined bays or tight working areas rather than run with a continuous bar.
